2022 Ram 5500 HD

The 2022 Ram 5500 provides customers with four different trim options: the Tradesman, SLT, Laramie, and Limited. Each trim level has its own set of design features, but all models offer a rugged exterior to handle harsh conditions and terrains. The latter three models feature chrome exterior accents for added style and luxury. The Ram 5500 is only available with a white exterior and black or chrome accents. The 5500 has a chassis cab design, meaning it has a front cab with an open flatbed on the rear. You can get either single or dual rear tires on any trim level, plus a two- or four-door cab, depending on whether you need additional passenger or internal cargo space. You can also get a longer rear bed or a commercial upfit kit so your new 5500 can best serve the needs of your profession.

The standard engine option of the 2022 Ram 5500 is the 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 engine. This option offers a maximum of 370 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. The V-8 is standard for the chassis models. The extra powerful engine allows for a maximum towing capacity of 19,000 pounds and a payload of 12,510 pounds. The 5500 also has a 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo I-6 engine model that offers a maximum horsepower of 360 and up to 800 pound-feet of torque. This engine also provides a maximum towing capacity of 35,220 pounds.

Both engine options for the Ram 5500 use a six-speed automatic transmission. This allows you to change gears seamlessly even when transporting large loads. Its standard rear-wheel-drive system provides you with a better steering feel and smooth handling on curves in the two-door models. If you get a four-door 5500 instead, its four-wheel-drive system ensures your tires have enough traction to make smooth turns on any concrete road and off-road terrain.

The interior of the cab differs depending on the trim level. The standard Tradesman trim features vinyl seating, while the other models offer a leather interior. The Limited trim level features the added luxury of real wood, aluminum trim, and an internal touch-screen display. The two-door models offer seating for up to three, and the four-door cabs can hold up to five. Both the two-door and four-door cabs also feature 62 cubic feet of interior space for passengers.

Ram provides an advanced safety system for the new 5500. Features such as adaptive forward lighting, lane departure detection, forward collision warning, and front/rear parking assist ensure you can safely maneuver the vehicle on the road or any worksite. Premium trims like the Laramie and Limited also include a rear camera and digital rearview mirror display so you can directly pinpoint where to place cargo.
