Regular maintenance ensures your Chrysler Pacifica always performs at its best. Your vehicle’s maintenance schedule is listed in its manual, and each service is due at particular mileage or time milestones. We want to tell you more about a few examples of the Chrysler Pacifica maintenance we provide.
Examples of Chrysler Pacifica Maintenance Available at Your Chrysler Dealer
Oil Change
Your Pacifica uses high-grade synthetic oil, which is more efficient and longer-lasting than regular oil. The oil lubricates countless engine components, allowing them to work effectively and protecting against unnecessary wear and tear. It also contains specialized additives that help to keep the engine clean, prevent rust, and break down potentially harmful engine deposits.
Synthetic oil gradually becomes less effective as it ages. It also thickens due to the accumulation of dirt and other minute debris collected from the engine. This reduces its protective abilities, potentially resulting in damage to the engine. An oil change is usually performed every 10,000 miles or once a year. We’ll drain and replace the old oil and install a new filter.
Spark Plug Replacement
Spark plugs are also checked and replaced every 10,000 miles. The plugs ignite the fuel-air mixture in the engine cylinders when this mixture has been sufficiently compressed. When the mixture is correctly ignited, it produces a carefully timed series of mini explosions, the combustion power that moves your vehicle.
The plugs wear out due to age, so they must be regularly replaced. Worn plugs don’t burn the fuel-air mixture correctly, producing an irregular series of explosions. Irregular burning produces a misfire, and if it happens in more than one cylinder, your vehicle could stall. Continued misfiring will damage the affected cylinder and its piston. Replacing the plugs according to schedule will prevent these problems.
Air Filter Replacement
The air filter is located behind the radiator grille. Your engine requires enormous quantities of air for combustion, as fuel can’t burn correctly with insufficient air. All the air for combustion passes through the filter, which traps any dirt or debris suspended in it, allowing only clean air to enter the engine.
In time, the air filter will become blocked with dirt, restricting airflow into the engine. The fuel-air mixture will become fuel-rich if the engine doesn’t receive enough air. A fuel-rich engine burns fuel inefficiently, reducing fuel economy and causing misfiring or stalling. The air filter is usually replaced every 30,000 miles, but may be required sooner if you drive in dusty conditions. Replacing this filter on time will prevent numerous engine issues.
